OBITUARY

MRS. LIZZIE BURNS

Mrs. Lizzie Burns passed away at her home in Des Moines Friday evening after a short illness, pneumonia being the cause of death. The funeral was held in Des Moines and the body was brought to this city this noon for interment. Mrs. Burns was sixty years of age at the time of her death and leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two sons and two daughters one of whom is Mrs. W. R. Coyne of this city. Mrs. Coyne was with her mother at the time of her death and Mr. Coyne went down yesterday to be present at the funeral.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Melissa "Lizzie" Elliott married (1) Thomas Elwood Sheridan on 17 October 1866 in Boone County, Iowa. She married (2) Patrick Burns some time between 1880 and 1885. She had children with both husbands.

"Mrs. W. R. Coyne" was Anna (Sheridan) Coyne/Koine. She was married to William Richard Coyne/Koine on 14 November 1912.
