OBITUARY

MRS. ABEL HOUGLAND [should be HAUGLAND]

Mrs. Abel Hougland [sic] was born Mar. 1, 1849 in Norway, Europe and died at her home in Story City Feb. 26, 1918 being almost 68 years at the time of her death. She had been in failing health for some time but grief over the departure of her son for the camp hastened her death. She leaves to mourn her death her aged husband and seven children, Mrs. Anna Tesdall, Mrs. Bertha Houge, Hans, Lars, Abel and Rangvald all of whom were present at the funeral. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Immanuel church, Rev. Heimark officiating. A large host of friends had assembled to show the last act of love and respect for the departed.
