Friends in this city have learned of the death of Mrs. G. I. Simpson which occurred yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Wiedo [sic] at Worthington, Minn. The funeral will be held there tomorrow afternoon. Mrs. Simpson had been sick for several weeks and the end was not unexpected the cause of her death being kidney trouble. Mrs. Simpson was born in Ohio about seventy five or six years ago an came to Iowa about twelve years ago and lived with her husband and family out near the red bridge* in this city until a few years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Simpson moved to their farm in South Dakota. There they remained until Mrs. Simpson's illness a few weeks ago when they went to Worthington. They had kept their residence here and had planned to come back here in the spring. In November last year Mr. and Mrs. Simpson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Simpson was the mother of eight children, six of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Minnie Hiltbrunner of Des Moines, Mrs. Florence Schrader, Walnut, Iowa, Lester, Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. Henry Wiedo [should be Wiedow], Worthington, Minn., Arthur and Mollie.
