Story County Deaths
EVA ACKERMAN
Eva E. Ackerman, 81, Long Term Care, Story County Hospital, Nevada, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1980 at the hospital.
She was born Jan. 14, 1899, the daughter of Clarence and Katie Elliott [should be Elliot] Earl. On Jan. 24, 1920, she married Benjamin A. Ackerman in Ames. He died July 20, 1969.
The couple farmed in the Nevada area until moving to Nevada in 1955.
Mrs. Ackerman was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, a 50-year member of Royal Neighbors, active in church activities and the Shipley Ladies Aid. She also participated in many activities at Long Term Care.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond (Barney) and Paul of Nevada and Carl of Mt. Vernon, Ia.; five daughters, Mary Catherine (Mrs. John Croker) of Colo, Marjorie (Mrs. Arthur Fox) of Hillside, Ill., Nora (Mrs. Leo Kinyon) of Cambridge, Helen (Mrs. Dan Williams) of Augusta, Wisc., and Mary Elizabeth (Mrs. Terry Landis) of Osceola, Ia.; one sister Mrs. Anna Fay Clark of Des Moines; 38 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Nevada, with Father James Supple officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada cemetery.*
A wake service will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m.
