OBITUARY

MRS. MAGGIE SMAY RAY

Report has been received of the death at Victor, Colorado on January 9, of Mrs. Maggie Smay Ray, wife of Jas. L. Ray of that place. Mrs. Ray spent the most of her younger years in Nevada and was married here some twenty-years ago but has lived all of her married life in Colorado. She was about sixty years of age and a daughter of Joseph Smay, who died many years ago in Richland township, northeast of Nevada. After the father's death, the mother Mrs. Angeline Smay, removed with her family to Nevada, where the children all grew up and where she died at a ripe old age some year and a hald ago. Miss Maggie taught school around the county for about seventeen years, and left behind her everywhere pleasant memories, continuing as a teacher until her marriage and removal. She is survived by her husband and one son, about 23 years of age. Other near relatives are her sister, Mrs. Frank Buffington of Zearing, Homer Smay of Oakland, Cal. and Elmer E. Smay of Nevada.
