Funeral Services Held on Friday for Lloyd Charles Knight

Funeral rites for Lloyd Charles Knight, 31, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Knight of Nevada, who died at Winona, Minn., on April 5, were held Friday afternoon at the Adams Funeral home in Ames with Rev. C. V. Pence of the Nevada Church of Christ in charge. Burial was in the family lot in the Ames cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dr. Earnest McFarland, Lewis Judich, Wayne Reynolds, Merle Robins and A. Robins all of Ames and Donald Fish of Adel.

Lloyd Charles Knight, son of Charles D. and Orda Craven Knight of Nevada, was born November 9, 1907 in Ames. He attended the Ames high school and following his graduation he attended Iowa State college course in the University of Minnesota in March of 1935. At the latter institute he was affiliated with the Theta Chi fraternity.

Mr. Knight was a member of the Church of Christ in Ames, uniting with that congregation when a small boy. He was an active worker in the Sunday school and church.

On October 27, 1935 he was united in marriage with Miss Lucile Stoelting of Hazen, North Dakota.

For the past four years he was engaged in Agronomy work with the Soil Conservation service. He was a good workman and enjoyed his work.

He is survived by his wife, his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Knight, Nevada, and one sister, Mrs. Spearing of Manley, two brothers, Harold of Ames and Donald of Nevada.

The relatives present at the funeral services from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Knight and Don of Nevada; MR. and Mrs. Ben Stoelting, parents of Mrs. Knight, Hazen, N. D., Mrs. Weir, sister of Mrs. Knight, and her husband of Blue Earth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Dr. R. B. Spearing, with their two children, Robert Junior and Elaine of Manley, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Wood, Des Moines, aunt of Mrs. Knight; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Knight, St. Charles, aunt and uncle of the deceased; Mr. and Mrs. Guy Crum, Albia, Ia., cousins of Lloyd. There were many friends from out over the state in attendance at the funeral.
