Funeral Services Held Here Today for Mrs. W. R. Phillips

Funeral services for Mrs. W. R. Phillips, 42, well known and beloved Grant township woman, who died at the University hospital at Iowa City January 3, were held this afternoon at the Nevada Seventhday Adventist church with Elder Gordon of Des Moines in charge.

Mrs. Phillips was a woman who devoted her life to her home and her church and was popular and active in the neighborhood in which she had spent the last five years of her life.

She was born at Fort Dodge, Ia., June 12, 1896, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O. Arnett, now of Lincoln, Neb. Later the family moved to Nevada an here she spent her girlhood, joined the Seventhday Adventist church at the age of 12, attended the church school and Oak Park academy. She was united in marriage to Wendell R. Phillips, December 12, 1916, at Albert City, Iowa. They ha made their home on a farm southwest of Nevada for the past five years and here their one son, Rollen Lloyd, has grown to young manhood.

She is survived by her husband, the son Rollen Lloyd; her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Arnett of Lincoln, Neb.; brothers Frank H. of Bouton, Iowa, Archie H. of Lansing, Mich., and Ernest J. and Earl J. both of Lincoln, Neb.; and sisters Mrs. Avis Johnson of Ruthven, Iowa, Mrs. Murriel Luther of Marathon, Iowa, Mrs. Ruth Phillips of Salem, Oregon, and Mrs. Thomas Evans of Lincoln, Neb.

The church was well filled with relatives, friends and neighbor, gathered to pay tribute of respect to the memory of one all loved and respected.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
