Funeral Services Held Sunday for Andrew V. Lane

Slater, Oct. 7--Funeral services for Andrew V. Lane of Allison were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Riis Funeral Home. The services were in charge of Rev. P. E. Onstad who was assisted by Rev. I. Havneros of Story City and Rev. A. Wertz of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Des Moines.

E. C. Reisetter of Allison sang "In Heaven Above" and Rev. Onstad sang "Den Store Hvide Flok."

there were many beautiful floral offerings and gifts of money to the Missions and for the Bethlehem organ chimes fund.

Burial was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Andrew Lane was born near Trondheim, Norway, Oct. 4, 1881 and died at the Mercy Hospital at Allison, September 27.

After his mother's death he came to America to live with an uncle and aunt at Decorah. He was a graduate of St. Olaf College and received his M. A. degree from the University of Minnesota. On August 14, he was married to Miss Susie Dueland at Slater, Iowa.

He has been a teacher and the past three years was director of social welfare work in Butler county. His is survived by his wife and a sister, Mrs. Julia Jacobson of Decorah.
