Fred H. Golly Of Zearing Died Sunday Night

Fred H. Golly, 77, brother of County Treasurer Russell L. Golly of this city, passed away at 11:30 Sunday night at the Mary Greely hospital in Ames where he was taken Friday. he had been in Nevada at his brother's home for the past six weeks during which time he underwent surgery at Mary Greeley hospital about ten days ago.

Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at the Christian church in Zearing. Burial will be in the mausoleum in the Zearing cemetery.

Born in Story county, the oldest in the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Golly of Zearing, he was one of the early day residents of that community. He spent a number of years in Minnesota but the greater share of his life was lived in an near Zearing where he farmed, was engaged in real estate and the automobile business, and again farming.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Lillian Beatty, Tucson, Ariz., Claude of Spencer, Ray of Peoria, Ill., Walter of Blue Earth, Minn., William of Winnebago, Minn., Mrs. Catherine Jessen of Story City an Russell L. Golly of Nevada.

An adopted son in the Fred Golly family, Feeley Golly was killed in France, November, 1918 at the close of World War I.

The body is at Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing where it will rest until the funeral hour.
