Obituaries
Ilo Cozzens
Oct. 11, 1910, to Feb. 26, 1994Ilo B. Cozzens, 83, of Zearing, died of complications of surgery at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.
Mrs. Cozzens was born to Arthur P. and Daisy (Fleming) Couser in Zearing. She graduated from Zearing High School in 1928. On June 14, 1929, she married O.W. Cozzens on her family's farm in Zearing. She was a homemaker and a housewife. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church an a member of the United Methodist Womens Organization. She was a member of the Zearing Senior Citizens, Zearing Civic Improvement Club and the Zearing Sorosis Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Austa White of Plainfield and Sarah Turner of Waterloo; her son, James Cozzens of Barling, Ark; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Stevens of Washington, Hazel Thorson of Williams and Evelyn Davis of Clemons; and her brother, Chester Couser of Guttenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1985; two brothers, Delmar and Luther Couser; and one sister, Lola Davis.
Funeral services were held March 2 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Zearing, with the Rev. Raymond Doser officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Township Cemetery, Zearing. Fredregill Funeral Home, Zearing, was in charge of arrangements.
