Funeral Services Held Thursday For A. L. Tiede

Story City, April 14 -- Funeral services were held at the Henderson funeral home in Story City Thursday afternoon for A. L. Tiede, who passed away at his home Monday afternoon, April 7, at 1 p. m., at the age of 86 years, 4 month and 19 days. He was laid to rest in the Story City cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Samuel Carlsen, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran church.

Pall bearers were J. E. Erickson, Bert Hill, Eric Alsager, Theodore A. Larson, Magne Idse and Albert Hanson.

Born at Elkport on November 18,, 1860, Abraham L. Tiede was married to Miss Emma Gottschalk May 13, 1886. She passed away exactly a year ago on the day of his death.

The Tiedes moved to Story City from Eldora in January, 1905. Here Mr. Tiede operated a variety store until his retirement some years ago. Since that time he has been in failing health.

Surviving are two sons Ralph of Story City an Earl of Wichita, Kan., two grandchildren and one great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Emma Heine of Chicago, Ill.
