Last Rites for Mrs. L. A. Dale at Story City Church

Story City, Feb. 19 -- Funeral services were held in the St. Petri Lutheran church at two o'clock on Saturday afternoon, February 15, for Mrs. L. A. Dale. A prayer service was held in the Henderson funeral home preceding the service. The Rev. S. T. Nelson officiated. Rev. Ivar Havneros also spoke. Mrs. Robert Hermanson, soloist, sang two hymns at the church service, "My Jesus I Love Thee" and "My Faith Looks up to Thee."

Ingborg Marie Jacobson*, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Jacobson, was born in Ames, Iowa, February 26, 1876. She was united in marriage to Mr. Lars A. Dale on May 31, 1899.

Mrs. Dale has been a member of the St. Petri Lutheran church of Story City since early childhood. She was confirmed by the Rev. Nils Amlund, Nov. 16, 1890. She was an active member of the Ladies Aid society until declining health limited her physical abilities.

Mrs. Dale has been of frail health during the past years and was confined to her bed for several months. She passed away at the Story City hospital on Wednesday evening, February 12, at the age of nearly seventy-one years.

A sister and a brother have preceded her in death: Mrs. N. J. Swan, formerly of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Mr. O. A. Jacobson* of Seattle, Washington.

She is survived by her husband and four children: Jasper of Story City, Edna (Mrs. R. P. Ensweiler), Gary, Indiana, Wanda (Mrs. Harry Stark) of Clinton, Ruth (Mrs. C. E. Shugart) of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. J. J. Wood[s], Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Laura Linder, Story City, E. C. Jacobson, Story City and J. F. Jacobson, Eugene, Oregon.

The floral tributes were many and beautiful and a large sum of money was also given as a memorial from relatives and friends of the departed.

She was laid the rest in Fairview cemetery in Story City.

Casket bearers were C. F. Johnson, Bert Hill, G. H. Amlund, Verne Wiggin, Theodore Howland and Olai Alsager.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The deceased in Ingeborg Marie Jacobsen, not Jacobson as stated. Her brother, mentioned as predeceasing her, was actually C. A. Jacobsen of Seattle, Washington-- Cyrus Albert Jacobsen.
