Wife of Ex-Nevada Minister Is Dead At the Age of 81

Mrs. Mary L. Shipman, 81 year old wife of Rev. Raymond M. Shipman, who was a former Nevada Methodist minister, died yesterday morning at the Friendship Haven Home in Fort Dodge where she was a resident.

Born November 30, 1882 in Fontanelle, Iowa, Mrs. Shipman attended the Simpson Academy where she was graduated in 1906. She was a member of the Methodist Church, P.E.O., D.A.R. and the Pi Beta Phi.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Raymond M. Shipman; one daughter, Mrs. Victor Gunn of Dallas, Texas and four grandchildren. One son, George, preceded her in death in 1953.

Services will be held Saturday, April 11, at 3 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Ames with Rev. Lawrence Beals officiating. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Adams Funeral Home, Ames until noon on the day of services.
