Services for M. J. Davisson Held in Zearing

Zearing, Aug. 2: Funeral services for Merlin J. Davisson were held at the Brouhard funeral home on Thursday, July 31, 1947 at Zearing with Rev. Chas. Fuller in charge of the services.

Casket bearers were Donald Grimm, John Hoberland, John Johnston, Manly Dakins, Sam Oaks, Charles Barnard. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. K. L. Cerka. Organ music was played during the service.

Merlin J. Davisson* was born at Earlville, Illinois, April 2, 1869 and was raised to manhood in that community. He was married to Grace E. Bozell* at Ottawa, Illinois, Oct. 25, 1889 and to this union ten children were born: Hazel, Lake E., Gertrude (now dead), Henry, Dea, Merlin, Stewart (now dead), Myrtle, Pauline (now dead) and Grace.

The wife and mother departed this life on Jan. 12, 1912 at Faith, South Dakota.

Mr. Davisson retired from farming twenty years ago and had lived in Chicago, Ill., most of the time, where he departed this life on July 28, 1947. Burial was in the family lot in the Zearing cemetery.
