A. J. Wright Buried Sunday

Died Friday Evening at His Daughter's Home In Ames

The funeral services for the late A. J. Wright, who passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Will Eaton, in Ames on last Friday night, were held in Nevada Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Sherk, on Main street. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Wright, a former resident of Nevada, was 68 years of age and had lived in this county for nearly forty years. During most of this time he had farmed near this city, later moving to Belle Plaine, and then finally settling with his daughter in Ames at whose home he passed away.

Alonzo James Wright was born October 16, 1852, at Nashville, Tenn. When a small lad he came with his parents to Iowa and settled on a place over in Marshall county where he grew to manhood. It was in 1871 that he was united in marriage to Miss Virginia Owings and to his union 8 children were born, one of whom died in infancy and the balance are left, with the wife and mother, to mourn the death of the husband an father.

The children are Charles L. Wright of Nevada, Edwin J. Wright deceased, Cora B. Sherk of Nevada, Minnie M. Eaton of Ames, Mabel E. Hart of Ames, Lenora F. Terrill of Boone, William Robert Wright of Fort Dodge and Ross E. Wright of Belle Plaine.
