Obituary.
Lawrence Abraham Howes was born in Gilbert, Iowa, July 19th, 1910; died July 4th, 1920. Lawrence was a child of cheerful and happy temperament an was one the real boys. His sunny disposition made him a general favorite and his vacant chair in the school and in his class in Sunday school will long be a reminder of his happy smile. He leaves a father, mother, one sister, and other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his death.
Funeral was held Wednesday, July 7th, at 2 p. m., from the Congregational church, Rev. Wissler, pastor, conducting the services. Interment was made in the Gilbert cemetery. Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. Wm. Howes, Sr., of Follette, Ia.; Mr. Wm. Howes, Jr., De Witte, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gordon and daughters, Hazel and Mary; Mrs. Z. Morrison, Hazel, Dora and Clarence, and Mrs. Willard Meyers of Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Fritz Galitz of Clinton, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Falk of White Lake, S. D.; Mrs. John Klinesmith, Mrs. Wm. Garber and Mrs. Joe Hoses of McCauseland, Ia.; Miss Alberta Gruber of De Witte, Ia., and Miss Loraine Ewing of Iowa Falls, Iowa.
