MRS. NELSON DIED IN DES MOINES TODAY

SUCCUMBED AFTER LONG ILLNESS; FUNERAL WEDNESDAY--BURIAL HERE

Mrs. W. C. Nelson, 45, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines today at 5:00 a. m. after having been confined to the hospital for eight weeks, suffering from high blood pressure and other complications. Death came not unexpected as it had been realized for some time that she could not recover.

The funeral services will be held at the Dunn Funeral home in Des Moines, Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. The body will be brought to Nevada Thursday morning the there ill be brief services at the family lot in the Nevada cemetery Thursday morning at 10:00, followed by interment.

Mrs. Clara Statler-Nelson was well-known in Nevada and Des Moines, where she, with Mr. Nelson had lived for many years, during which time she had concerned herself largely with social work and was the founder of the campfire movement in Des Moines. Both Mr. and Mrs. Nelson had been identified with that line of endeavor for many years.

Mrs. Nelson as born at Grundy Center, Iowa, February 16, 1886. She spent her girlhood days in Nevada with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Statler, graduated from the Nevada schools and it was here that she was married to W. C. Nelson, who was at that time engaged in boys training work, which followed during their entire married life.

During the married life of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson they had lived at Carney and Lincoln, in Nebraska; Nevada, Iowa City and Des Moines in Iowa.

She leaves besides her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Statler of Omaha, a brother Samuel Statler of Nevada; and three sisters, Miss Edna Statler of Omaha, Mrs. Louis Gamble of Farmer City, Ill., and Mrs. Margaret Frederick of Des Moines.

The husband, the parents and the sisters were with her at the time of death and had been with her the most of the time during the last weeks of her illness.
