MRS. HANDSAKER DIED LAST NIGHT

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD MONDAY AT 2 P. M., AT COLO

Mrs. Ralph Handsaker, 40, died at her home north of Colo last night from heart trouble and other complications, having been confined to her bed for nineteen weeks.

The funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 at the Evangelical church in Colo, after which the body will be brought to the Nevada cemetery for interment.

Sarah J. Brooks Handsaker was born July 4th, 1891 a daughter of Alexander and Sarah Brooks at Crehannan, Quigley's Point, Ireland and died at her home north of Colo, Nov. 13, 1931.

She came to this country when a girl of eighteen, accompanied by her sister, Margaret and her uncle James Brooks. She was the sixth of a family of ten children, her father, sisters Lizzie, Alice and Agnes having preceded her in death. Her mother, brothers W. J. and Alexander and sisters Bella are in Ireland will be greatly grieved at the news of her untimely death. Those in this country are her brother, David of Nevada; Margaret Webb of Oelwein and Mary Jones, Colo, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Eugene Ralph Handsaker, eldest son of J. T. and Margaret Handsaker, December 19, 1912, at Jefferson, Iowa. They immediately went to housekeeping at their present location, three miles north of Colo, in Sherman township. To this union were born Margaret E., Sarah Bernice, Johnnie A., David, Annabell and Ralph Junior. Little David and Ralph Junior having preceded their mother to the better world. Margaret E., Sarah B., Johnnie A. and Annabel, together with their father are left to mourn and suffer the grief and anguish only known to those left with a home without a wife and mother.

Sarah was a woman with wonderful energy and ambition, her health had been poor since before the loss of her little Junior, the shock being so great it was necessary to place her in the hospital at Manning, under the special care of her cousin Dr. O. W. Wyatt. After a four month treatment she returned much improved in August 1930. July 5th, 1931 she took suddenly sick and was a great and constant sufferer until relieved by death.

She was a woman greatly loved by all and will be much missed by all of her neighbors and friends. She was a member of the Evangelical church at Colo.
