'CHET' LOUGH DIED SUNDAY MORNING

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON IN NEVADA

C. W. Lough, 77, died at his home a mile south of Nevada early Sunday morning, after a brief illness following a long period of ill health. He was up town the last of the week, but was later more seriously stricken and died about 1:00 o'clock Sunday morning.

The death of Mr. Lough followed that of his wife just a year and ten days.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot funeral home after which the body will be laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery.

Chester W. Lough was born at Manchester, Iowa, July 29, 1854, one of eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lough, but the family came out to Story county in 1869, the elder son Frank B. Lough coming out a couple of years earlier.

He grew to manhood in this community and was married in 1893 to Mrs. Roxanna Winger and their home was upon the homestead a mile south of town, until her death a year ago.

He leaves besides two step-children, Frank B. Winger of Butte, Montana, and Mrs. Mary Smith of Minneapolis, his brother, Frank B. Lough and other relatives.

Among the members of the family who grew up in this community and were known here in later years were the brothers Addison Lough of the Shipley neighborhood, who passed away a number of years ago, the brother Charles Lough who died in Nevada. Frank B. Lough is the sole survivor of the large family.

Mr. Lough was a man of industry and thrift, of fine integrity, quiet and unassuming and his acquaintance was not wide, but those who were privileged to enjoy that acquaintance knew him as a man of fine characteristics.
