Funeral Services Held On December 5 For Edwin Dannenberger, Colo Resident
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 5 at 1:30 p. m. at the Colo Methodist Church for Edwin Joseph Dannenberger who died Friday, Dec. 2. The Rev. Floyd Newbrough officiated.
Joe Harper, soloist, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Saved by Grace" accompanied by Mildred Brinkman.
Pall bearers were Myerl Shields, Theodore Bengston, Clayton Carmody, George Nowlan, Roy Hostetter, and Robert Zeisneiss.
Cars were furnished by James Barrett, Sylvester Peakin and Melvin Weuve.
Funeral services were directed by the Brouhard Funeral Home in Zearing with burial in the Colo cemetery.
Life Sketch
Edwin Joseph Dannenberger was born March 18, 1900 at Hinckley, Ill., the son of Ed and Mary Dannenberger.
He died Dec. 2 at 1:15 p. m. a the home of his sister-in-law in Marshalltown at the age of 60 years, nine months and 14 days.
He had bee in failing health during the past year. Death was due to a coronary.
At an early age he moved to Colo where he resided most of his life, with the exception of a few years spent in the Zearing Community. On April 4, 1921 he was united in marriage to Florence Bryant of Colo. To this union two children were born, Berdina (Mrs. Ray Granger) of Colo and Wanda (Mrs. Earl Thompson) of Forest Grove, Ore. He was a member of the Colo Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Florence of Colo, two daughters, Mrs. Ray Granger of Colo and Mrs. Earl Thompson of Forest Grove, Ore., his mother, Mrs. Mary Dannenberger of Colo, one sister, Mrs. Irene Hemping of Colo, four grandchildren, Susan and Cynthia Granger and Linda and Gary Thompson.
His father, Edwin, sister Daisy, and two infant brothers and sister, Dorothy, Harry and Merton preceded him in death.
