OBITUARIES

Russell E. Melohn

MAY 28, 1928-- JUNE 18, 2016

Russell (Russ) Mehlohn, 88, died June 18, 2016, at his home at Apache Junction, AZ, after a short fight with cancer.

Russ was born May 28, 1928, to Herman and Pearl (Mason) Melohn in Nevada, IA. He married Beatrice (Clark) Melohn on April 28, 1950. Beatrice preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2009.

Russell remarried on April 16, 2011, to Anna Slane and they made their home in AZ.

Russell is survived by his wife, Anna of AZ; two sons, Melvin (Randy) Melohn of Ankeny, IA and Richard (Annetta) Melohn of Huxley, IA; a sister, Jeanne (Ken) Peters of Edenton, NC and seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Russ was preceded in death by his wife Bea (2009), his daughter, Patricia (1990), a brother, Donald and his parents.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Nevada, IA, on July 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the services, dessert/coffee will be served at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, IA.
