Melohn Funeral Monday Afternoon
The funeral services for Herman Melohn, who died at the home of his brother O. C. Melohn at 104 J avenue Friday, January 30, were held at Memorial Lutheran church Monday afternoon and attended by a large number of relatives and friends, many of them from a distance.
Interment was in the Nevada cemetery the services being in charge of his pastor, Rev. J. O. Simon.
Herman Melohn was born April 7, 1891, at Champaign, Ill. In the year 1900 the family came to Iowa and located at Nevada and this has been his place of residence up to the time of his death. On Oct. 18, 1920, Mr. Melohn was united in marriage to Miss Pearl Mason. To this union two children were born, Donald, aged 8 and Russell, aged 2. Mr. Melohn had not enjoyed the best of health throughout all of the past summer. His condition grew critical just a few days ago and he grew gradually weaker, and the end came at 12:30 Friday, Jan. 30 1931 at the age of 39 years, 9 months and 23 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and two little children, his aged father, George Melohn; also three brothers, Ozra C., Wm. and Chas. Melohn; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Prescott and Mrs. Ruth Donaldson. All of these live in Nevada and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Mr. Melohn united with Memorial Lutheran church April 18, 1926 and was a member of that church at the time of his death.
