Mrs. Bullock Dead After Long Illness
Special to the Journal.
State Center, Jan. 14--Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Bullock, 72, who died in a Marshalltown hospital Monday evening, after a long illness, will be held at the Methodist church here Thursday morning at ten o'clock, with Rev. Ft. J. J. Buzynski, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic church in charge. Interment will be at Hillside cemetery.Mrs. Bullock was taken ill Dec. 26, and underwent an operation for obstruction of the bowels Dec. 29, and submitted to a second operation two days later. Glandular infection developed Monday, resulting in death.
Mary Agnes Dolan was born in Sugar Loaf, N. Y., April 16, 1858, a daughter of Peter and Ann Dolan. When a child she came west with her parents, who settled at Woodstock, Ill. After a residence there for a few years, the family came to Iowa to make a home at Lisbon. In 1875 they moved to Colo, where Miss Dolan lived until her marriage Feb. 21, 1882, to Henry Bullock, of State Center, the ceremony being performed in the latter town.
Mr. and Mrs. Bullock were the parents of six children four of whom, with Mr. Bullock, survive. The children are Mrs. Albert Hart, State Center; Mrs. John Swinbank and Mrs. William Wilkening, Collins, and Thomas Bullock, Colo. A sister, Mrs. Sarah Dunkelberger, Davenport; a half brother, Marion Dolan, Los Angeles; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
