VETERAN'S WIDOW DEAD AT ZEARING

MRS. LOUISA WALDIE PASSED AWAY FOLLOWING A STROKE

Special to the Journal.
Zearing, Dec. 23--Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Snively Waldie, 80, who died at her home here Thursday at 12:30 p. m., will be held at the home Monday afternoon at 2:00, after which the body will be taken to State Center, for interment by the side of the husband who died a number of years ago.

Mrs. Waldie, widow of William J. Waldie, a Civil War veteran, had been a semi-invalid for a number of years died following a stroke of apoplexy.

She had lived in the Zearing community since 1895, when she came here from Marshall county. Born at Bloomington, Ill. in 1852 she was married to William J. Waldie September 29, 1867. She came to Iowa in 1874 and they took up their home in Marshall county, where they lived until 1895 when they moved to this locality.

Seven children were born to them, all of whom survive with the exception of the son Irwin, who died a few years ago. Those living are Miss Clare Waldie of Zearing, who lived with and cared for the mother, Mrs. William Clemons of Colo, George Waldie of Zearing; Will Waldie of Forest City; John Waldie of Chicago and Earl Waldie of Arizona.

Mrs. Waldie was a member of the Christian church and of the Missionary society of that organization, as well as of the Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.
