WILLIAM BRITTEN DIED AT ZEARING
HAD BEEN RESIDENT OF THAT COMMUNITY FOR OVER FORTY YEARS
Special to the Journal.
Zearing, Aug. 25--William Britten, 69, for over forty year a resident of this community, died at his home here at 9:00 o'clock today from a complication of asthma and heart trouble, from which he had been a sufferer for several months.The body is at the Brouhard funeral home, pending funeral arrangements yet undetermined.
Mr. Britten was a native of Crehennen, Ireland, where he was born August 22, 1863. He was a lad of 19 when he came to America and he was married to Eliza Willey of DeKalb, Ill., November 8, 1888.
The fall of 1889 they came to Zearing and located on a farm north of here, where they continued their home until a few years ago when they moved into Zearing and retired from active work.
He leaves besides his wife, two sons Morris [should be spelled Maurice] and Harry both of Zearing. A third son died a number of years ago.
