OBITUARY

Maud Hale, 96

RHODES - Maud Hale, 96, formerly of Rhodes, died Monday morning, April 3, at the Marshall County Care Facility where she had been a patient the past 22 months. Services will be held at the Rhodes United Methodist Church at 1:30 P.M. Thursday with the Rev. Beverlee Bell officiating. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wensel-Perrin Funeral Home in State Center after 5 P.M. Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established.

Born Maud Richmond May 22, 1893 at Rhodes, she was the daughter of Alonzo and Charlotte Amanda Beard Richmond. She received her education in the Rhodes schools.

On July 1, 1914 at Marshalltown she married Fred Hale and they lived in the Rhodes area. She was a telephone operator for several years in Rhodes. Mrs. Hale was a member of the Rhodes United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1983, a grandson, two brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include a son, James Hale of Rhodes, a daughter Kathleen (Mrs. Joe) Malechek of Marshalltown, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Rhodes United Methodist Church, 1:30 P.M., Thursday, April 26th.

Clergy: Rev. Beverlee Bell

Special music: Joyce Thomas, Ken and Betsy Buck.

Interment: Eden Cemetery.

Casket Bearers: Bob Malechek, Jon Malechek, Jack Cardani, Joe Malechek, III, Reggie Eldridge, Larry Ginter.
