Marshalltown Times Republican - Apr 9., 1929

"Rhodes Man Dies - Aaron Hale Succumbs Following Stroke of Apoplexy. - Aaron Hale, an old resident of Rhodes, died at 5:30 Sunday afternoon at his home in Rhodes following a stroke of apoplexy suffered last Tuesday evening.

Aaron Hale was born in England in the year 1854. He came to Canada with his parents shortly after the civil war. The family later settled in Cook county, Illinois, before coming to Rhodes.

Mr. Hale was married twice, and his first wife, Mary Sullen Hale died a few years after their marriage. He later married Mrs. Jessie Johnson, who survives him. He is also survived by two sons, Aaron and Milton; two daughters, Mildred and Florence; one adopted son, Fred, all at home; a stepson, Robert Johnson, of Flint, Mich.; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Roy Baker, of Collins. Five brothers and two sisters also survive him. The brothers are James and Roy Hale, of Fort Dodge, William, of LeMars, Tom, of Iowa Falls, and Andrew Hale of Rhodes. The sisters are Miss Miriam Hale and Mrs. Fannie Heath of Fort Dodge.

He was a member of Mineral lodge No. 519, E.O.O.F. The funeral services will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist Episcopal church at Rhodes, with Rev. C.C. Casper in charge of the services and burial will be in the Collins {Evergreen} cemetery."
