AGED RESIDENT CALLED BY DEATH

FRANK LOUGH DIED AT HOME HERE LATE MONDAY

Frank B. Lough, 80, for about 65 years a resident of Story county, died at his home 926 Seventh street, Nevada, late Monday afternoon and the funeral services and interment will be Wednesday afternoon. The service will be at Morfoot funeral home at 2:30 and interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Lough was the last to die of the eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lough, early day residents of Story county, having been the sole survivor of the family since August 16, when his brother Chester W. Lough died.

The deceased had been failing in health for a number of month and during the past several weeks had been confined to his home with heart trouble and other complications.

Mr. Lough, who was a native of Delaware county, Iowa, where he was born May 16, 1852, came out to Story county in 1867 and was followed two years later by his parents and other members of the family.

He was united in marriage to Miss Ann Elizabeth Hull [should be Hall] in Grundy county, Iowa, January 25, 1877, and she with their five children survives him. For nearly fifty-five years this respected couple had lived together in peace and contentment, devoting their lives to their home and their children.

This county had been his home since coming here in 1867. He had lived for many years on a farm northeast of Nevada, but about thirty years ago, moved with his family to Nevada, where he engaged in the livery business, in which he continued until the changes of time supplanted the livery business by motorized bus and taxi an the feed yard with a garage.

He served for several years as deputy sheriff under Sheriffs Ricketts and Gretten and had a wife and most favorable acquaintance over the county.

Mr. Lough was a man of industry and integrity, a good citizen and an indulgent husband and father.

He leaves besides his aged helpmate, with whom he would have celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary on January 25; three sons, Harry Lough, Samuel Lough and Bert Lough, all of Nevada; and two daughters, Mrs. Verda McBride of Ames and Mrs. Laura Pincombe of Nevada. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
