MARY E. LOWMAN DEAD AT IOWA CITY

MOTHER OF MRS. H. E. HADLEY PASSED AWAY AT HOM THERE EARLY TODAY

Mrs. Mary E. Lowman, 81, died at Mary Coldron home, Iowa City, early today and the funeral will be held at Iowa City, Thursday afternoon at 2:00, in charge of the Unitarian pastor. Interment will be at Iowa City by the side of her husband, William Lowman, who died last May.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Stella Hadley, wife of Colonel H. E. Hadley of Nevada and Mrs. Minerva Justice of Chicago.

Mrs. Lowman was a native of Pennsylvania, where she was born in 1850, her maiden name being Mary E. Smith.

She was united in marriage to William A. Lowman at Livermore, Penn., in 1873 and they continued to make their home in that state until 1880, when they came out to Iowa and settled at Iowa City.

There their family move was until 1919, when they moved to Nevada an established their home at 214 J avenue, but a block from the home of their daughter.

Mr. Lowman died here May 2, 1931 and the body was taken to Iowa City for interment.

News of the critical condition of Mrs. Lowman, who suffered a stroke of paralysis Sunday, was received here and Mr. and Mrs. Hadley hastened to her bedside at once and she died early this morning, her daughter being with her when death called her.
