DAVE LANG DIED MONDAY EVENING
LONG TIME RESIDENT OF COUNTY CALLED BY DEATH LAST NIGHT
David L. Lang, 81, longtime prominent resident of Story county, died at the home of his only son Frank Lang in Ames, Monday evening at 6:30.
Mr. Lang came to Story county from Illinois close to a half century ago, was long a prominent farmer and active in political and civic affairs, later moved to Nebraska, where he engaged in the ranching business near Crawford, but a few years ago returned to Story county and has made his home with his son Frank Lang and family.
Mr. Lang at one time served on the board of supervisors of the county and was for some years steward of county farm, being succeeded in that position by his son.
He leaves besides the son Frank Lang, three daughters. They are Mrs. Genevieve Wilson of Pullman, Wash., Mrs. Charles Kooser of Ames and Mrs. Lyle Allen of Ames.
Funeral services for Mr. Lang will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Adams Funeral home in Ames, after which interment will be made in the Ames cemetery.
