Mrs. Karen Malmin Died On Christmas at McCallsburg

Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, Dec. 26--Mrs. Karen Malmin, 88, long time resident of this community, died at her home here on Christmas morning from complications due to her advanced years.

While the hour had not been definitely determined, it is thought that the funeral will be held at the Lutheran church here Saturday afternoon, with her pastor, Rev. Bakke in charge. Burial will be in the McCallsburg cemetery by the side of the husband M. Malmin, who died in 1923.

Mrs. Malmin was a native of Stavanger, Norway, where she was born July 29, 1847. There she grew to young womanhood and was married to M. Malmin. They came to America in 1881, settling first near Roland where they lived for two years and then located on a farm near McCallsburg, where they lived until they retired and moved into McCallsburg.

The surviving children are Harry Malmin of Graettinger, Martin Malmin of Minneapolis, Mrs. Lewis Grimsley of Clear Lake, Minn., and Gerhard Malmin, Mrs. Bertha Olson and Mrs. Clara Egenes, all of McCallsburg.
