Mrs. Reinertson Beloved Woman; was Laid to Rest

Special to the Journal.
Slater, Nov. 19--Funeral services for Mrs. Louie Reinertson were held Sunday afternoon 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Bethlehem church. The services were in charge of her pastor, Rev. E. R. Rorem who read the 23rd Psalm a the scripture reading. The beautiful floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Bertha Nervig and Mrs. Leona Moore. A group of relatives at Ellsworth gave a sum of money to the missions in her memory. Mr and Mrs. Reinert Holland of Kelley and the Ladies Aid of the Bethlehem church also presented money in her memory. A male quartette composed of Dewey Fausch, Ralph Hitz, Earl Mosebach an Harold Hitz of Alleman sang "My Jesus as Thou Wilt" and "Near, Near to Thee;" Homer and Arlene Lewis sang "Good Night Here but Good Morning Up There." Mrs. M. S. Heggen and Mrs. A. L. Peterson sang the duet "My Faith Looks Up to Thee."

The pall bearers were O. T. Reinertson of Des Moines, Ben Reinertson of Kelley, Emerhoff Peterson of Ames, Randall Reinertson of Napier, Floyd Johnson of Slater and Ray Harmer of Gary, Ind. Interment was made in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Mabel Irene Heggem was born near Slater, April 24, 1887 and died November 13, 1935 at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 20 days. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Heggem. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Bethlehem congregation. Her marriage to John Louis Reinertson took place July 28, 1909. Three children were born to this union, Kenneth, Faye and Arlene. From 1920 till 1930 the family made their home near Lamberton, Minn., later moving back to their farm near Slater. Mrs. Reinertson was a faithful friend and devoted wife and loving mother. She took an active part in the work of the church and the social life of the community. Her health had been failing the past two years. About three months ago her illness became critical and her loved ones realized that she would soon leave them. Everything possible was done for her by loving hands. Her father passed away several years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and three children Fay, Arline and Kenneth; her mother, Mrs. Julia Heggem, one brother, Sanford Heggem of Des Moines; nine sisters, Mrs. Tom Skola of near Nevada, Mrs. Emerhoff Peterson of Ames, Mrs. Ray Harmer of Gary, Ind., Mrs. Harold Johnson of Oakland, Calif., Miss Loretta Heggem of Berkeley, Calif., Misses Kathryn and Jeanette Heggem of Ames, Mrs. Herbert Nervig and Mrs. Floyd Johnson of Slater.
