John E. Flowers Died Suddenly From Heart Attack
Zearing, Aug. 17--John E. Flowers, 70, longtime resident of this community died very suddenly Friday morning from a heart attack. Death came as a distinct chock to the community as he had been in his usual health when he retired that evening before.
Mr. Flowers was born at Pilot Mound, Wisconsin, a son of Hiram and Sarah Maria Flowers, he being the youngest of 11 children.
He spent his boyhood days in Wisconsin and Illinois, where he became a railroad worker. He came to Zearing in 1890 and on June 2, 1892, was married to Eleanor Eugenie Bull.
Since that time the family home has been on a farm north of Zearing. He is survived by his wife and four children; they being Mrs. Constance G. Lundin of Marshalltown, Mrs. Berdine Andrews of Zearing, Mrs. Myrtle White of St. Louis, Mo., and Elvin Flowers of Grand Junction. He also leaves eight grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Evangelical church here Sunday afternoon at 1:30, with the pastor Rev. R. E. Kearney in charge. Burial will be in the Zearing cemetery.
