"ELIZABETH MAY BENTLEY - Elizabeth May Bentley was born near Maxwell, Iowa, on November 18, 1865, the daughter of John and Margaret (M. S. Michael) Bentley. She was the youngest of twelve children and was the last surviving member of the family. On January 24, 1888, she was united in marriage to Harvey W. Yeaton. To them were born six children: Glenn H., who died in infancy; Dale A. Yeaton and Edna McCabe, of Guthrie Center; Eva Leach, who died in 1926; Mabel Jones, Of Des Moines, and Nina Boyle, of Malwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1902 the family came to Guthrie Center, where Mrs. Yeaton has lived since that time. Following the death of her husband in 119**, she spent most of the time with her children. She was a member of the Guthrie Center Presbyterian Church, and of various other organizations, being a charter member of the local American Legion Auxiliary. For several years she has been in failing health, and the end came on Sunday evening, July 28. She is survived by her children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:30 in the Presbyterian Church in Guthrie Center, Rev. Whitmore officiating. Graveside rites were held at the Maxwell cemetery at 4:00 o'clock, with the Rev. C. E. Burdine in charge." **Editorial note - typed as it appeared in the original newspaper article, probably should be 1911.
