DEATHS

Eva Hungate

Funeral services for Eva Hungate were held Monday morning, June 8, at 10 a.m. at the Warner Funeral Home at Spencer, Iowa. A short graveside service was held in the Center Grove cemetery near Cambridge, at 3 p.m. Monday afternoon with Rev. Dale Ellsworth officiating.

Eva Janet Hungate was born May 27, 1875 at Fountain Green, Ill. to William and Rachel Dye Burrow.

She grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Walter Hundage in September 1899 at Bladinsville, Ill. To this union union was born five children: William of Everly; Harmon of Osage; Ralph of Houmla; and (Mary), Mrs. Frank Esry and Albert, who preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Hungate formerly lived at Cambridge and Ontario, Iowa before moving to the Everly community 14 years ago.

She had been an active member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Cemetery Society. She enjoyed her family and made many friends throughout the years.

Following a period of failing health, she died at Longhouse Residence on June 5, 1970 at the age of 95 years and 8 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter in 1938, one son, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her three sons William, Harmon and Ralph; 15 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
