"FUNERAL HELD THURSDAY

One of the largest funerals held in Roland was that of Mrs. Henry H. Twedt at Bergen Lutheran church Thursday afternoon.

A short service was held at the home at 1:00 o'clock followed by the regular service at the church. Rev. M.O. Sumstad officiated, assisted by Rev. O. Amdalsrud. The pall bearers were the four sons and two sons-in-law of the deceased, Leonard, Harris, Leslie and Virgil Twedt, Gaylord Jacobson and Silas Hall. Mrs. Millard Jacobson sang a solo at the home and Misses Esther Cole and Myrtie Anderson sang two songs at the church. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.

Mrs. Henry H. Twedt (nee Isabelle Wicks) was born November 8, 1879, at Skaanevik, Norway, and died at her home north of Roland, April 22, 1935, at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 14 days.

She came to America with her parents in June 1892, and has lived in this community since that time.

She was united in marriage to Henry H. Twedt on March 11, 1898, and seven children were born to this union. A daughter, Herma, died June 20, 1932. Those surviving are Leonard of Roland, Mrs. Gaylord Jacobson of Ellsworth, Harris and Leslie Twedt, Mrs. Silas Hall and Virgil Twedt of Roland. She is also survived by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole A. Wicks of this place, two brothers, Torger Wicks of Kanawha, and Lars Wicks of Roland, a sister, Alice Wicks of Roland, and also nine grandchildren.

This is the third bereavement in the family within the last three years. The daughter Herma died in 1932 at the age of 16 years, a grandchild, Ione Twedt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Twedt, died last August at the age of 15 years, and now Mrs. Twedt died last week. All three of these funerals were among the largest ever held in this community."
