Samson Funeral Sunday Afternoon at Methodist Church

Funeral services for Ralph Samson, farmer of southwest of Nevada, who died at Iowa sanitarium February 1 following a major surgical operation were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Nevada Methodist Episcopal church with Rev. Geo. A. Lawton in charge. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.

The services were well attended by sorrowing relatives and friends gathered to pay a final tribute of respect to the departed one.

Ralph C. Samson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Samson, was born at Homer, Illinois February 8, 1895 and died at the Iowa sanitarium Feb. 1, 1934. He was one of a family of eight children. One brother, Asburn Samson died in Montana last March.

The deceased lived in Illinois until 1915 when he came to Story county and made his home with his brother for about a year.

On August 2, 1916 he united in marriage with Emza Dawson of Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Samson have lived in this vicinity all of their married life with the exception of one year spent in Minnesota. To them six children were born. The children are Kenneth, La Verne, Harold, Eloise, Virginia and Richard.

Besides the wife and children he leaves to mourn their loss, his father W. F. Samson of Homer, Ill., five brothers Harry, Elmous, Pearl, Charlie and Keesee; and one sister Alta of Danville, Ill. Also many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Samson was a hard working man who loved his family and was very anxious to do all for them that he could, and his family and friends will not only miss him but they will cherish his memory.
