THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, April 9, 1964, page 1. "MEAD TOMLINSON - Albert (Mead) Tomlinson, 90, died at the Story County Hospital at 4 a. m. on Monday. He had suffered a stroke at his home near Maxwell on Saturday morning. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the Maxwell Methodist Church with the Rev. J. E. McClellan officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Surviving are his wife, Luella, two sons, Forrest of Des Moines and Howard of Walker, Ia; two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Borts of Madrid and Mrs. Cleora Sedwick of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren and one sister, Tresa Cook of Des Moines. Tomlinson was born in Maxwell and lived his entire life in the Maxwell community."
THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, April 16, 1964, page 4. "MEAD TOMLINSON - Albert E. Tomlinson, youngest son of George and Anna Oxley Tomlinson was born on the old homestead, east of Peoria, on February 28, 1874. He passed away at the Story County Hospital on Monday, April 6, 1964, at the age of 90. In 1896 he was united in marriage to Ina Bell and to this union two children, Howard and Lenora were born. Mrs. Tomlinson passed away in 1904. In 1906 he was married to Luella Black and to this marriage, one son, Forrest, was born. Mr. Tomlinson became a member of the Methodist Church in Valeria in the year 1910. In 1926 he and his family moved again to Maxwell, where they have resided until his death. He and Mrs. Tomlinson celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last September 23rd. Many of the older people will remember "Mead" as he was called, operating a steam operated merry-go-round at the annual Old Settlers Picnic. Survivors include his wife, Luella; two sons, Howard of Walker, Iowa; Forrest of Des Moines; one daughter, Lenora, Mrs. Lenora Borts of Madrid; one step-daughter, Mrs. Cleora Sedgwick of Des Moines; one sister Mrs. Treasa Cook of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, two sisters and seven brothers. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8, at 2 p.m., in the Maxwell Methodist Church with Rev. J. E. McClellan officiating. Mrs. Madeline Summitt furnished the organ music. Casket bearers were Forrest Tomlinson, jr., Loris Hamann, Duane Borts, Bob Mason, Tiffin and Donald Tomlinson. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Collins."
