FORMER NEVADA WOMAN SUICIDED

MRS. MARY JACKSON ASPHIXIATED AT HOME OF A DAUGHTER IN DES MOINES

Mrs. Mary Jackson, former resident of this city, was fount dead in front of an open gas stove at he home of her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Anderson, in Des Moines, Friday afternoon. While she had apparently mad every preparation for taking her live, there is no cause know for her tragic ending.

Brief funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, after which the body was brought to this city and funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, at the Christian church. The services were in charge of Rev. C. E. Lookingbill, assisted by Rev. J. R. Adams of the Christian church. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, including the two sons and two daughters.

Mrs. Jackson was born Mary Ellen Shalley, at West Fairview, Penn., October 31, 1878 and died at Des Moines, Iowa, July 1, age 49 years, 9 months and two days.

She came to Iowa with her parents, in 1893 and four years later was married to Robert Jackson, who died November 12, 1905. To this union five children were born and four are living. The eldest son lived with his grandparents and was always known as John Shalley, while the younger son is Charles Jackson of this city. The two daughters living are Mrs. Glen Darr of Lakeworth, Florida and Mrs. Ethel Anderson of Des Moines.

He also leaves her aged mother, two sisters and two brothers, besides two grandchildren and other relatives. The sisters are Miss Anna Shalley and Mrs. Lizzie Melohn, while the brothers are Fred Shalley of this city and Sam Shalley of Bruce, S. D.

The daughter, Mrs. Darr happened to be in Des Moines on a visit when the tragedy occured.
