Pioneer Woman Was Buried Today

Special to the Journal.
Zearing, May 19--Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Andrews, 90, pioneer of the Clemons neighborhood, east of here in Marshall county, who died Saturday morning, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock, a the Bivens Grove church, after which interment was in the Bivens Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Andrews was stricken with apoplexy on Thursday.

She was born Martha B. Vane Venter, May 11, 1840, near Chatham Center, Medina county, Ohio, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Vande Venter. When she was 5 years old the family moved by ox team and covered wagon to Lafayette county, Wisconsin.

She was married at Darlington, Wis. to Cyrus S. Andrews, Nov. 19, 1866. Mr. and Mrs. Andrews came to Marshall county in 1867, and settled in Liberty township. Mr. Andrews died March 1, 1926. Mrs. Andrews is survived by three children, T. C. Andrews and Mrs. J. K. Linn, both of near Clemons, and Mrs. Vina Turner, of Marshalltown. A son died in infancy. Two grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. N. A. Perry, 86 years of age, and Mrs. Vina Bartine, 81, both of Zearing, also survive.
