Cambridge Man, 32, Hangs Self
A Cambridge man committed suicide by hanging Wednesday night in city jail.
Harold Dean Catron, 32, was found hanging from the top on one of the cells when a police officer checked him about 9:50 p.m. The coroner said later that the hanging must have taken place about 9:45 p.m.
Catron had been picked up on an intoxication charge about 5:30 p.m. He had been checked by an officer about 9:25 p.m., police said this morning, and had seemed alright then.
Bits of clothing h ad been used for the hanging.

Cambridge – Funeral services for Harold Dean Catron, 32, Cambridge, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cambridge Methodist church with the minister, Miss Grace Anderson, officiating.
Burial will be in Cambridge cemetery.
The body was to lie in state at Duckworth-Stevens funeral home in Ames this afternoon and be taken to the home of Mr. Catron’s mother, Mrs. E. Mae Catron, in Cambridge Saturday morning.
Mr. Catron was born Sept. 16, 1922, at Altoona. He enlisted in the Air Force in February, 1941, and spent 16 years in the service. He was attached to the 303rd Bomber Wing and the 303rd Field Maintenance Squadron.
He is survived by his mother; his father, Manassa Catron, Indianola; a brother, James L., Holman, Tex.; four sisters – Mrs. Famie Pigg, Pampa Tex.; Mrs. Archie George, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Norma Jean Watson, Marshalltown; Mrs. Clara Mae Luellen, Campo, Calif.; and a half-brother, Manassa, Jr., Indianola.
