Andrew Fjelland Dies Sunday at His Home in Huxley

Huxley, May 29--Andrew F. Fjelland, 77, died at his home in Huxley Sunday, shortly after noon, after an illness of over a year and over seven months bedfast. He was born on the old homestead November 15, 1867 The farm is located a mile west and half a mile south of Huxley. He continued to live upon a farm until 1919, when he retired and moved into Huxley.

His parents, Andrew and Botelle Fjelland, came to the United States from Norway during the Civil War. They were member of the Fjellberg church and their son was baptized, confirmed ad married in the same church, of which he was a lifelong member and active in its work. He was not only active in the work of the church but of the schools and everything that was of benefit to the community.

He was united in marriage to Bertha Eide, February 21, 1893, and is survived by his wife; sons Olen, Tilden and Burton, all of Huxley; a daughter, Angeline Marmet of Des Moines, a niece, Alice Gord Hills who came into the Fjelland home at the age of three years. Two sons died in infancy and one son, Sanford Fjelland, veteran of World War I, died May 22, 1929. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Julia Watland of Teremonton, Utah and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Fjelland church, with Rev. Hellickson in charge. There will be a prayer service at the home at 1:30 p. m. and at the church at 2:00. Burial will be in the Fjeldberg cemetery.
