Funeral Services Held For Lars L. Richardson

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Riis Funeral Home in Slater and at 2 p.m. from the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley for Lars L. Richardson. Rev. Harry Sto--land of the Palestine Church at Huxley was in charge of the services.

A Quartette composed of Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Richardson and Mr. and Mrs. David Heyerdahl sang "Behold a Host" and "Softly the Daylight Fades."

Pallbearers were Nels Richardson, Lewis Erickson, Noble Christensen, Clarence Ryg and Milford Thompson.

Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery.

Obituary

Lars L. Richardson, son of Lars S. and Gertie Richardson was born Dec. 17, 1865 in Norway and passed away April 7, 1955 in the Fairview Rest Home at Dodge Center, Minn., at the age of 89 years, three months and twenty days.

At the age of three years he came to this country with his parents and lived in Polk and Story Counties until he was 58 years of age when he moved to Kenyon, Minn., where he lived until he was take to the Rest Home about two years ago.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

He was united in marriage to Lilly Ryen on March 30, 1895. To this union 3 ons and 2 daughters were born. All the children survive him. They are Henry and Mrs. Leda Walker of Kenyon, Minn., Gordie of Fairbault, Minn., Clara Maland and Jeffery Richardson of Kelley; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He lovingly cared for his children after the death of his wife after only thirteen years of marriage.

He was a Charter member of the Bethany Lutheran church of Kelley and an active worker while a member here. He humbly confessed his faith in his Savior who he loved. He was blessed with a gift of song and loved to sing Hymns and praised to his Lord.
