DEATHS

Mrs. Seward Berhow

Funeral services for Mrs. Seward Berhow were held on Monday, June 2, 1969 at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church at Huxle, with Pastor Marvin E. Nygaard officiating. Organist was Mrs. Jacob Lee. She accompanied Mrs. Selmer Westvold when she sang, "Den Store Hvide Flok" and John Berhow sang, "How Great Thou Art."

Pallbearers were Milford Ryen, Raymond Ryen, Irving Ryen, Orville Kalsem, Edward Ryen and Orville Elliott.

Interment was in Fjeldberg cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Berhow was born on June 30, 1879 at Gardner, Illinois. She moved to Iowa with her family as a young girl and had lived in the Huxley vicinity most of her adult life.

She was united in marriage to Seward Berhow in the Fjeldberg Church on Feb. 19, 1908. They celebrated 61 years of married life.

Mrs. Berhow passed away on Thursday, May 29 at Mary Greeley Hospital at Ames, where she had been readmitted on May 28. She had been in failing health for a short time.

She is survived by her husband, Seward, one daughter, Mrs. Donald Lydon of Simi, Calif., two grandchildren, Dennis Koch of Wichita Falls, Texas and Michael Koch of Oxnard, Calif. and four great grandchildren. One sister, Nellie Elliott of Huxley and one brother, Oley Ryen of Slater also survive.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Knut and Oleana Ryen, four brothers, Charley, Knuty, Erick and Ed.
