DEATHS

Mrs. Sarah E. Wenos

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah E. Wenos were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, after a prayer service for the family in the Fireside Chapel at the Fjeldberg Lutheran Church. Pastor Marvin E. Nygaard conducted the services.

Mrs. Edward Larson sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" before the sermon and "Beyond the Sunset" at the close of the services. Mrs. Jacob G. Lee was organist.

Mrs. Robert Christopher and Mrs. Orval Byrd arranged the flowers.

Six nephews served as casket bearers, Leon Heggen and Howard Heggen of Des Moines, Marion Heggen of Ankeny, Merrill Heggen of Alleman, Arlo Heggen and Eugene Heggen of Huxley.

Interment was in the Fjeldberg Cemetery.

Sarah E. Wenos, daughter of Ole W. and Isabelle Heggen, was born in Huxley, Ia. on February 28, 1892. She was brought up in the Lutheran faith, baptized and confirmed in the Fjeldberg church. She lived her entire life in this community.

She was married to Andrew O. Wenos on December 7 1917. To this union, one daughter was born, Mrs. Edna Hellekson.

She passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday morning, May 25 at the age of 77 years, two months and 25 days.

She is survived by her daughter, one grandson, Dean Hellekson of Des Moines, one granddaughter, Marilyn of Marshalltown, and two sisters, Ella and Rose Heggen of Huxley.

She was preceded in death by her husband on May 21, 1959, her parents, three brothers and one grandson.
