Last Rites Held In Lake Crystal For Mrs. Griffin
Funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Griffin, 83, were conducted Oct. 1, from the Zion Lutheran church, Lake Crystal, Minn. with the Rev. S. O. Sorlien officiating. Mrs. Griffin died very suddenly Sept. 26 of a heart attack while on her way up town for dinner.
Mr. Martha Ellanson, soloist, sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross," favorit hymns of Mrs. Griffin. She was accompanied by Mrs. Mabel Nelson. Pall bearers were Mose Edwards, Ed Griffiths, Lorin Cookson, Jess Hansen, Donald Mertesdorf, and John Roberts. Interment was in the Minneopa cemetery.

Mrs. Amelia Griffin was born Nov. 29, 1870 in Nevada, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Amelia Hoel. She received her education in the Nevada public schools.
She was united in marriage to Delbert A. Griffin on August 23 in Nevada, Iowa. To this union one daughter and two sons were born. The family moved to the Crystal Lake community when they came to Minnesota in 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband in May of 1932.
She was a faithful attendant of the Zion Lutheran church, a member of the Zion Lutheran Mission Guild and a member of the A. J. Murphy Relief Corps.
Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. D. J. Griffiths (Louise) of Pacoima, Calif., two sons Frank and Charles Griffin of Mankato, Minn., six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
