Obituary

Mrs. Grace Reischauer, daughter of Andrew and Anna Larson, was born at Story City on December 24, 1876. She lived her entire life in the Story City vicinity, living for many years on the farm and then in the town proper. Following her husband's death on June 13, 1935 she moved to her home on Penn avenue where she passed away Saturday.

On February 6, 1896 she was united in marriage to Charles F. Reischauer. To this union were born three children, all of whom survive the mother.

Mrs. Reischauer proved herself to be a devout Christian. She was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren church for 42 years and was faithful to the services and activities of the church so long as her physical condition permitted. She possessed the faculty of always looking on the bright side of her life and ever expressed appreciation for the blessings coming from the goodness of her God. Often she spoke of her preparedness to depart this life whenever her master would call for her. She was a member Grace Ladies aid, serving as president of that organization at one time, the women's society of world service, the Ladies Council class and the center cemetery society.

She loved to be with people and enjoyed their fellowship greatly.

Our departed sister had been confirmed for the most part of the past year to her home, nevertheless, with assistance, she could still get out occasionally She was up and about in her home and seemed to be as usual physically. However, last Saturday forenoon after attempt was made to contact her at the door and by telephone, she was found by loved ones. She had slept peacefully away in her sleep on Saturday morning, October 30, having gone to meet her maker. She had reached the age of 77 years, 10 months and 6 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, three children Mrs. Erma Thatcher of Winnebago, Minn., Mrs. Minnie Ballard of Ankeny and Clarence Reischauer of Blue Earth, Minn. Remaining also are three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Sena Johnson and Mrs. Marie Peterson both of Story City, Mrs. Nettie Larson of Rochester, Minn. and Otto Larson of Winnebago, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband and three brothers, John and Nels Larson, both of Story City and Hans Larson of Ringsted.
