Final Rites Held For Lars Lien In Huxley

HUXLEY -- Final rites for Lars Lien were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, from the Orlin Lien home at 1:30, and in the Fjeldberg church at 2 o'clock.

At the home Bonita Lien sang "Behold a Host Arrayed in White" and Rev. Rye gave a short prayer. Services at the church were in charge of Rev. Rye who gave a very inspiring message.

A vocal trio consisting of Mrs. Cecil Henderson, Mrs. M. H. Rye and Mrs. E. D. Hall sang "Full Persuaded." A vocal solo "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung by Mrs. Henderson. Mrs. Orland Fjelland was the accompanist.

The beautiful floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. Lewis Gilbert and Myrtle Olson. There were also many memorial gifts to worthy causes.

Pallbearers were E. D. Hall, Clarence Hill, Orland Berhow, Tom Sabo, Tilden Fjelland and Burton Fjelland. Interment was in Fjeldberg cemetery.

Obituary

Lars Lein was born May 15, 1871, near Roland, Iowa, and passed away January 23, 1952 at the home of a son Orlin near Kelley at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 8 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He was married to Stena Wicks May 10, 1894. Ten children were born to this union He was preceded in death by his wife Stena and three daughters. He was married to Ellen Toft in 1936. She survives him in addition to two daughters and five sons; Mrs. T. N. Dueland of Nevada, Mrs. Roy Larson of Los Angeles, Calif., Oscar of Watson, Minn., Haldor of Montevideo, Minn., Lawrence of Ankeny, Minerd of Gaettinger and Orlin of Kelley; also 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
