Last Rites For Mrs. Hester Fincham In Colo E.U.B. Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Hester A. Fincham were held Friday, August 31, 1051, at 2:00 p. m. in the Evangelical United Brethren church in Colo with Rev. Hugh Guy of Nevada officiating, assisted by Rev. Darrald Eller.

Casket bearers were G. H. Ludwig, Ralph Handsaker, Lloyd Lounsbury, Wm. Tett, Ira Vail and Ray Chitty. Music was furnished by Mrs. Raymond Petefish of Colo who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset," assisted at the piano by Miss Jean Dice of Colo.

Mrs. Lloyd Lounsbury and Mrs. M. L. Rankin cared for the flowers. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery by the side of her husband.

Obituary

Hester Ann Walston, daughter of William and Mary Walston, was born near El Paso, Ill., on May 211, 1865 and passed away at her home in Sherman township on Tuesday, August 28, 1951 at 6:00 p. m. being 86 years, 3 months and 7 days old. A well rounded life, rich in experience and what a period of the worlds existence to live. On February 13, 1884 she was united in marriage to Robert James Fincham of Towanda, Il.

To this union the following children were born: Lottie Goodnow of Colo, Stanley R. of Nevada Mary O'Neil of Des Moines, Lauren L. (deceased), Lester W. of Zearing, Clarence L. of Rockford, Ill. and Lloyd E. of MaComb Ill.

On February 22, 1893, fifty-eight years ago last February, the family moved to Iowa on an immigrant train and located on the farm in Sherman township, Story county, where Mrs. Fincham has lived for almost six decades. Her husband having passed away October 18, 1908 and Lauren in July 1909.

All of her children were able to be present at the funeral. Leona and husband and Lloyd E. coming by plane from Calif., Clarence L. and family and Clifford Larson from Rockford, Ill. The following sisters and brothers from Illinois: Ernest Walston ,Harry Walston, Sylvia Farrell, Grace Bigger, a nephew Lester Bigger and wife and their son Ralph Bigger and wife of Hudson, Ill. Grandmother Fincham is survived by twenty-three living grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
