Former Colo man, Clarence Fincham, rites in Burg Sat.

A former Colo resident, Clarence L. Fincham, 70, of Rockford, Illinois died Tuesday, May 27 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford after a three-month illness.

The funeral for Nevada-born Fincham will be held in McCallsburg on Saturday, May 31 at 3 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Albert Best officiating. Burial will be at the Johnson Grove Cemetery north of Colo. Services were held in Rockford on Thursday, May 26 in the Court Methodist Church.

Born March 2, 1905 in Nevada, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fincham, he had lived in Rockford for the past 39 years, going there from Manchester, Iow. After receiving his B.A. degree from Iowa State University he was married to the former Marie Schurwanz in Nashua, on June 11, 1928 and had taught school in Manchester.

Upon moving to Rockford, he was a teacher at the Brown's Business College there. He had been employed for the past 20 years as a salesman for the Fincham Industrial Supply Company, a business he founded in Rockford.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Rockford and also the Gideon Memorial Bible Society.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, two daughters, Mrs. Dallas M. Cox of St. Paul, Minnesota and Mrs. Vanita Sels of Reading, Pa.; four grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Fincham of Macomb, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Goodnow of Colo and Mrs. Leona Larson of Los Angeles, Calif.; several nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Lester; and one sister, Mary O'Neil.
